Thanks a lot for providing your spritesheet. I made a little game with it for Godot Wild jam #39 : https://gaet.itch.io/anti

Super cool. Got to the end.

also: godot \o/

:) Glad you liked it!

I love this! It's so hard to find good game assets.

( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

really cool tileset i played around with it and made this prototype

Love the parallax effect <3

holy crap, i just realised dere.exe was probaly made with this.

Yeah, this one got popular at some point :)

Nice job! Have you another job? How do you make the ball blame?

This is one of the best art packs I've seen. I love the beautiful blend of simplicity and detail. Great work.

Hey man, absolutely love this one (and your work in general)! I participated in the Bullet Hell Jam and used your pack, so I'm just dropping by to say hi and thanks :)

If you want to check it out: here's the link :)

Have a good one!

The game feels awesome, really just one week? How do people even do that?

Great work!

Thanks! My secret formula is lots of coffee, a poor sleeping schedule,  a very supportive girlfriend and friends who are happy to playtest. Strong combination!

uh, i cannot; it was a löve project (why would you assumed otherwise?), and I kinda lost it 😅

Anyway take a look on Quaternion.Lerp

Hello Friend, I haved used your Assets for a DonPachi GameJam #3, and I would like you to give me your opinion, THANKS for everithing.

The game is in link:

https://devbwoys.itch.io/proyecto-asm119

PD: Sorry for my English.

Hola!

(1 edit)

Friend  I do not understand linux or mac, but I have managed to compress it for linux, if you could tell me if it works well, it would be a great favor, thanks for the answer and the sprites are very good :)

Hi, really loving using this pack.

I see in the gif there's some particle effects whenever the player hits something. Would you mind explaining quickly how you've done it? Like with the .Love example you have for the energy ball.

Thanks!

I had to watch the gif frame by frame to figure out what you mean XD

there is no particle effect there - it's just the swoosh, frame-by-frame animation effect - it's there in the tileset

You could use particles as well I guess; it's always a lot of experimenting with parameters but the effects are cool :)

Thanks for the quick response!

Feeling a bit dumb now, spent ages trying to figure out how to get it working. xD

Thanks :D

thanks im using this for a game jam

Edit: thanks man I finished the game jam https://the-orange-triangle-team.itch.io/dark-chaos

THank you so much for you art it is one of the best i have ever seen keep making it

(Sorry for my English but I'm using the translator).

Hello! I have two questions and if it is not too much trouble, I hope you can answer them :), I wanted to know if it is possible to edit the playable character a bit (in the sense of adding hair and color) of course, giving you credits, and the second and if the game in which I implement the sprite can be sold, sorry if annoying.

PD: You work are so great :)

(1 edit)

You can do whatever you want. That includes modifying and/or using them in commercial projects.

Good luck!

https://www.reddit.com/r/godot/comments/krpovq/charge_kid_launches_today_on_nint...

You deserve the exposure as well ;)

Your name is also on the credits, of course.

Thanks for letting me know.

Ha! I'm on switch (kinda) XD

also: open source \o/

hello thank you,and your great project, but now i just high school student,i even have not credit card. So,I even can't offer any help to you. but, when i use your asset resource to finish my game,i will send to your for those hard work.thank again, god bless you

Don't worry about money, it's not that important really! Good luck with the game!

I have a question to ask about this asset. I want to import this asset for an Amiga 500 machine. I am unsure if anyone heard of this almost thirty year old machine. That being said there are graphics in the asset I do not understand what they are for, like the robot, robot head, other objects like the switches and other things even that square in the center. I want to use the asset correctly and each have their own functions. Like the monsters, what was the AI in mind behind them. If someone can please write to my comment the AIs of the monsters, the squares, etc please so I can port it correctly? If you guys don't know what I am asking, please tell me and I will try to explain it better.

This is just a tileset. All the game logic, behaviour, what-not - I don't provide those. What you're asking here is a game design document and it simply is not and never was there.

Whatever you decide is all right. Those pixels couldn't care less if you use them this way or another.

Good luck with the Amiga project! Retro gaming is cool! :D

Even if I did not get the answer, I still thank you so much for the asset and I thank you for actually giving me closure and replying to my request. I am satisfied in the end. Please have a nice day. :D Nad yes, RETRO GAMING ROCKS SOLID!! - fans face - I love retro games soooooooooo much!

Hey!! Thanku for the Tileset!! This is a university project we did it a year ago with your assets. It was our first game and I'm quite proud of the result. Thank you! <3 https://saiz0.itch.io/deflecto0

Looks like one of the most polished ones out there! Great job! I’m sure you’ve got a good mark for it :)

Thanks for using the assets ^^

could I use this for a commercial game?

you could

thank you

(+1)

Umm i actually used your work in a game jam project of mine and forgot to ask for the permission i'm really sorry about that but if you do mind it i could take my work down if you do tell me to and again i'm sorry about using it without the permission and i did and your name in the creadits cuz that is the least i could do.

(1 edit) (+1)

You have all the permissions you need for that. It’s there in the description. I’m happy you’ve found those graphics useful :)

Absolutely nothing to be sorry about!

:)

would you like to make a collaboration ? or do you already have a job ?

Hey, weird request. Could you make a black and white version of this sprite ? No, not all the animations, just one frame so I can make the rest myself. I'd be more than very grateful if you did just that. It would work SO WELL with my game. I'd really appreciate it! If you would make it, could you make it like Daniel Linssen's Outline (https://managore.itch.io/outline). What I mean by this is, a white background and a black outline. Here are some other examples: https://gmshara.itch.io/strange-keyworld, https://harmony-hun.itch.io/rota-demo. Just leave a screenshot in the replies. I'd be really happy if you made it. Thanks!

uh, you mean something like that?

I'm not sure if you can get the fancy outline effect without a cleaver shader but something akin to rota should be doable with this character.

Good luck.

(2 edits)

This was such a stupid request and you still answered. Thank you so much! Also, what FPS did you make the animations? And no, I didn't mean for the outline effect in Outline, I just meant white background and black outlines. Again, thanks! And keep up the good work. Oh, and any games coming?

Hi! I made this Little game with your asset. https://mitch91ishere.itch.io/run-inc

Hope you like It😁

No chcekpoints? And I've got so far!!!

Haha, nice little game, thanks for using the tileset : )

(1 edit)

Hey there. Sorry to bother you but would it be possible to obtain individual frames in .png format for the particle gif you've used? I know there's a .love version but I don't have LÖVE so I'm unable to use that.

It's fine if it's not possible or too time-consuming, just wanted to ask.

https://0x72.itch.io/tilesetssplitter works reasonably well with this one. You might need to name the files afterwards (or not, maybe it's just fine to have them numbered)

Thanks for the reply, but I think I may have miscommunicated what I wanted.

What I meant was whether it's possible to obtain individual frames for the fireball thing in the gif.

I don't see it in the downloadable files (industrial.v1 and industrial.v2) or in the .love particle example. I don't have a program to open the .lua file so I have no idea if the individual frames are in that.

(+1)

I see.

<- this is the only image used to draw the fireball. There are no animation's frames, and there never was. The effect is generated in the runtime.

I remember I have taken a look into making a frame-by-frame animation out of that. I struggled with making it loop convincingly. I gave up because even if I'd succeeded the effect would be much worse then just using particles.

You can learn how to achieve such results by searching for something like "particle effects $YOUR_ENGINGE_OF_CHOICE" - you'll end up with better results and it'll be less work.

Do learn how to do particles!

You might think that frame-by-frame animation is all you need and you can achieve the same effect with it, or maybe that it's simpler conceptually or something else.

Nah, don't listen to those thoughts, just learn particles! They make you a better game developer like instantly. They are more flexible, easier to do (once you go through one tutorial), faster to create, no need to talk to artists to achieve great results! What not to like? The more particles in a game the better it is.

Pinky promise!

You write own engine? Add particles! Even a simple one is better then none. Science confirms that engines with particle systems are 98% happier, 84% more awesome, and 43% less likely to die from not being used!

: )

a.d. LÖVE - you've mentioned .lua file so I assume you've figured that the .love file is just a zip. .lua is a text file you can open with any text editor (or ide). I don't think it'll be much of use to you though.

(+1)

Ahhh okay I get it. Thank you for taking the time to explain it to me. I use Stencyl as an engine and I'll definitely try to use particles in it. And yeah, the .love file isn't of any use to me. Thanks anyway :D

Hi there! Can I bother you and ask what google font you use in your itch page? Thanks

(1 edit)

One of the itch's defaults called "Pixel", I believe it's not there in google fonts.

https://static.itch.io/fonts/04b03.woff2

It's probably this one: https://www.dafont.com/04b-03.font or some version of it.

Thank you so much!!

cool

Hi! These are awesome assets!I will make a platformer and send you a link!

Hi again! Today u can see new usage of tileset! :D https://makovwait.itch.io/goods

(+1)

Super fun!

Very simple, yet entertaining!

Actually, I must resist spending time on this one!

also: godot! \o/

also: linux build \o/

thanks!

Hey used this for the 4th brackeys game jam: https://thasennin.itch.io/pink-thing-that-rewinds-time

Thanks!

Hey! looks cool, but I think I struggle with understanding the mechanics.

Either way I think that collision shape of the main character is a capsule, while with those kinds of games I find rectangle more fitting (easier to communicate to the player how to read the environment)

Either way: congrats on successfully finishing a game jam! :)

Thanks :)

The theme for the jam was rewind so the pink thing

rewinds time. Its an obstacle. You're right, the collison shape is a capsule, i will use a rectangle for my next

You should instead of putting them in one png file, have a file for environment and one for the enemies and stuff. Aside from that, I love it!

We made this game for a jam: https://valkoy.itch.io/neon-rush. Thank you!

Can I you use it for a jam.

(1 edit)

Yes, you can!

Hey there, just launched my first game on steam! It started on a game jam last year, and we used your art packs! Although the game is for sale, it is also open source, so you can download it and play it from the gitlab link listed as the game's website on its steam page. But of course, you can PM me and I'll send you a free key =)

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1334300/Charge_Kid/

Wow, congratulations on the release! I really like how it looks, especially the shader effect around the wormholes!

Hello, can you describe what actions character animation represents?

there are 4 animations of main character and they are each in a separate row: idle, run, attack, switch.

But you can use them anyhow, I've seen people using switch as attack and it's just as fine : )

Amazing Tileset!
But... How I can Use the Particle_Example.love in unity?
Thanks!

(+1)

Thank you,

You cannot. This would be weird.

You'll have to find another source to learn how to do particles in Unity. I wouldn't expect it being much more difficult than in LÖVE, but I'm unable to point to any particular resource besides the docs because I do not use Unity.

Good luck!

(1 edit)

oh, no, thanks.
I created something like this particle effect via particle system and pixel perfect camera!

Thanks!1!

P.S. I'm making a game like yours, so thanks to you for making those amazing tilesets for free and helping me whit this things to practice on making game!

Hi 0x72! I made a quick 1-level platformer with this tileset for an online course I'm doing. You're in the credits!

You can play it here.

(1 edit)

Nice! good job! Make more levels :D

Hey I created a game with ur awesome art, it uncompleted btw..

https://supermina39.itch.io/that-weird-dream

This is bloody difficult, or is it just too late for playing?

Keep up the good job :)

Thank you for looking at it, Yeah , the game is difficult, but i think that is because of the bad level design :'(. I noticed that there are many bugs, the tutorial is useless as people who played it never read the tutorial, and the story is crappy. But after all that was a game jam, so that is expected :D.
Thank u again for ur beautiful assets <3!
