Hi there Bartek.

I currently don't accept commissions. Sorry, I'm rather overworked recently.

Someone did a magnificent artwork inspired from the knight sprite: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2073984540

in the community hub of Selfless Heroes on Steam

Hello, I am quite new to game development and I want to use your wonderful spritepack to make a little game for myself to experiment with things and learn about game development. I've been trying to import your pack into unity and looked at a few different tutorials. but usually I end up with wrong sprites since in the one image there are 16x16 sprites and bigger ones (like the ogres) so unity cuts them up.. am I missing something here or should I alter them all manually in the sprite editor?

I doubt that Unity does not have tools for cutting sprites of variable sizes but I must admit I know next to nothing about Unity.

There is a chance that someone will help you here in the comments (guys, feel free to step up!) but you'd have better chance in some unity forum.

So you want to cut the sprites from the spritesheet?

Show some image so I could help you. I ended up making sprites for every frame of animation and if you want I can send you all the folder with everything ordered.

If you were so kind and put it up as a project on itch, I'd link to that from here and send all the unity folks there :)

Here.

Just follow the instructions. In asset might be some new tile that I've made if you want to use it.

Used some of your assets (knight, necromancer, and ogre) for a school project! Had to make a storyboard about a mechanic. Here is my favorite panel.

Amazing! and what mark did you get? :)

Got the grades back today, got a perfect score ;)

So cute! I love it!!

Hi man, would it be alright if I used your assets but changed them a bit? Using it is a base and changing it a bit to look unique.

You're free to do whatever you want - including modification. You're *not* required to share modifications with the same licence or anything like that. You don't even have to mention me.

Have fun! : )

I published a game on Steam using your assets:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1273450/Selfless_Heroes
Many thanks for you're awesome work!
You are credited here: https://selflessheroes.fr/about

Amazing, seams polished and fun. Hope you'll sell a million copies!

merci!

I used your art here and here

Tell me if you want credit on the first one thanks a lot :)

hey! cool you're using scratch!, feel free to credit me, much appreciated! : )

Hey 0x72, would you ever consider doing some art for a game for hire?

(1 edit)

for a game? sure. for hire? i don't really like the experience, but more importantly - no time for that : (

Awesome work, thank you very much. I made a game (Those who dig) with some enemies of this pack and I credited you :)

Amazing, Thanks for using the pack! : )

Love this tileset and your art at all, can you answer some questions? How long you've been drawing? What tool do you use? Where did you learn do draw? Sorry for bad english and thanks for tileset :)

> How long you've been drawing?

idk, I remember drawing something as a kid; I was never drawing a lot or anything like that. Every year I promise myself to finally learn proper drawing techniques but I always fail with my resolutions - does it counts?

> Where did you learn do draw?

Like, honestly I don't know how to draw; I can push pixels maybe just slightly better then I used to, because I push them for some time already. It's no-where near proper pixel art though. Maybe next year I'll improve : ).

That being said - the answer you're looking for is just that: just do it and it'll come, it'll take a long time, be prepared.

> Sorry for bad english

Nah, it's all good, I didn't even noticed the accent.

> and thanks for tileset :)

Thanks for liking it : )

Thanks for the answers, but i still have some questions left :D

How do you pick colors? And can you give me advice where should i start? Like, every time when i want to learn pixel art (or to draw something), i just sit in front of pc and just dont know where to start.

> How do you pick colors?

Pick something from https://lospec.com/palette-list

> where should i start?

one of those:

1. start with pencil and paper, and your computer turned off.

2. find some artist you and try to copy/steal from them; it's quite easy to copy something badly enough that it becomes semi-original : )

3.  start making a game -> fail miserably -> grab bits and pieces and release because what else can you with all that graphics?

I usually go with 3, it's nice because you'll have semi complete set (which is like 100 times better then an incomplete one!)

Thank you very much for all these answers ❤️

Hey man, I'm developing a game for iOS using these awesome assets. I really love pixel art and your visual style is pretty nice.

My game still in TestFlight if somebody have a iPhone can download from this link https://testflight.apple.com/join/kofkw0F5

When I launch on the App Store I will come back here to announce.

THANK YOU BRO! <3

thank *you*! Go make amazing games! : )

Hey there, yet again I've used your art for my small project. I appreciate your work and wait for new entries!

Looks like a lot of polish, amazing!

I've just realized it's the second game from you that's using my characters :D thanks twice as much!

Actually, it's the third game. But in HONK I used only several enemies. But it's the second where I use all your assets. By the way, in the very first version I used your robots asset pack!

The demons are so cute! They should be heros of an adventure game (no fighting).

Agreed. There are definitely not enough games with no fighting involved : )

Thanks, I needed to save time with a prototype and this will come handy! Sorry I didn't had more on my paypal. Coming back later.

(+1)

Don't worry about money, just go make a cool game : )

I'm glad it was helpful.

Thanks a bunch. Your characters inspired my platform game. https://sethkonoza.itch.io/hell-freezes-over

Hahaha XD it's funny, but I cannot the first level... I suck with platformers : )

(1 edit)

Hehe, luckily it's only 1 level

Could you share what font are you using on the side gifs?

https://itch.io/post/568647 : )

I have used your assets for my 7drl entry. Please check it out https://stacksta.itch.io/dk

Hi there! Cool project!

There is something weird about movement as the character never seam to go the direction I want him.

The last character is OP!

:D

Thanks for playing the game! As for the movement bug, I'll fix it in the post-jam version :)

Can I have a single spritesheet and JSON array for the wizard sprite, or is that not something you want to do?

(+1)

Are your sprite sets open for commercial use? I just wanna double check before usin them in what will probably be a commercial game.

(+1)

It's CC-0, which means you can do whatever you want - including commercial use.

If you feel like it's too cheap of an offer we can make a deal that when you finally become a millionaire you'll buy me a beer : )

Good luck with you game!

(+1)

Thanks! I'll remember this.

(-1)

Thanks for these amazing assets.
I use them in my game https://wazowski.itch.io/incinerate

Haha, I've worked once on a game (not finished) and I used exact same tune. I've heard is like a milion times. It engraved some pattern in my brain or something and I couldn't stop humming it... and now it happened again XD

Keep up the great work!

Deleted 75 days ago

repeat -> they'll be less ugly with time.

there's really not much more to that.

Also: I don't find my work particularly beautiful, but some people (including you it seams) like it - It seams having something consistent might be more important than having something (at least with those hobby/gamejam games :))

Powodzenia!

Hey, I get the “no manifest” error when Opening this in the itch.io app. Obviously it’s not an executable and I just need to show the files in the File Manager, but could you just add a manifest saying the default action should be to do that exactly?

For instance https://superdark.itch.io/16x16-free-npc-pack works this way.

Hi! I didn't even know there is such a thing.

Anyway, the docs mention the "game directory" which I don't have here as I just uploaded the files one by one. I guess I could make some cleanup or something (it's quite a mess) at some point...

i made a little game using some of your sprites :D

https://angus945.itch.io/drop-throw-dungeo

amazing! keep up the good work!

We love every single one of your pixels.

Used in the Mini-Game: https://theras.itch.io/fix-it-frankenstein

Keep up the good work!

This one is weird O.o... love it XD

Thanks to your brilliant work, we made a rhythm game~

Check it out if you want! Currently, it supports most web browsers on PC, Mac and Linux, such as Chrome and Firefox.

https://rhythmdungeon.com/

Thank you again!! Really appreciate it~

Didn't got to the last level, but it's a fun game, thanks a lot!

Really appreciate your work! I mean, it's a very original pixel art, simple and perfect for something like a Dungeon game (thing that now I'm working on). Keep the work boi!

But, want to know if you'll make (maybe one day, I'm only asking) the frontal and back position of the sprites.

hi there, thanks for the kind words.

No such plans for this tileset, I don't think it'd work well for them tbh

Which pallet did you use on all those sprites?

https://lospec.com/palette-list/linear-color-palette-basic - I miht have added some colors.
